All RXC and RXT controller systems include a simple web-based firmware update mechanism. The guide below covers the steps to update the firmware on these controllers.
- Download the latest firmware from the Aurora Multimedia Customer Portal and extract the files from the zip file
- Log in to the web setup pages by navigating to http://[rx-ip-address]/setup
- Enter the username 'admin'
- Enter the password. The default password is the last 8 digits of the serial number. On older models, the default password may be 'admin'.
- Click on the "Diagnostics" button
- Click on "Firmware Update"
- Read the instructions, then press the update firmware button. You should get a please wait message.
- After some time, you should be redirected to the firmware update page. The device screen should also indicate that it is in firmware update mode.
Note: if the redirection to the firmware update page times out, please refresh the page, or manually navigate to http://[rx-ip-address]:8080 - Follow the instructions, and drag the firmware file (.swu file extension) to the window at the bottom. The file will first upload, then install. The web page will provide status throughout the process.
- After the firmware process is complete, the RX controller will reboot. You may now close the firmware update page and go back to normal operations.
