Report: Apple TV LPCM audio does not work with Dante. All other sources work with Dante. The issue is specifically with the Apple TV devices.
Client reached out to Apple tech support about the audio issue, and we were able to identify the bug with their new TV's. Here’s what they found:
They were able to get 48Khz audio working with the following steps:
- Purchase an Apple music subscription.
- In the Apple music app settings, select 48Khz.
- Play a song in the Apple music app (48Khz Dante audio still wont work at this point).
- Go into Video and Audio settings and change the audio format. (It doesn’t matter whether we changed from stereo to 5.1 or from 5.1 to stereo.)
- 48Khz Dante audio will start working after changing this setting.
- Playing audio from any other app will cause 48Khz Dante to stop working (even in the Apple music app).
Apple acknowledges that this is a bug, and we currently have a case with them.
